August 15, 2025 Well Drilling Completion Data - Update
Please note a new code has been added for drilling and completion data submissions for operations that includes completions and plugbacks with packing devices capped with alternative material other than cement, as per Directive 020.
The new code is code 58 "Packing device capped with alternative material (not cement)" and is listed in both Directive 059 and Manual 027.
For form submissions, the code is listed as an option for plugbacks and completions alongside other similar codes (e.g., code 53 Packing device capped with cement).
For file submissions, please note the tags in the XML file have changed from <cementAmount> and <cementUnitCode> to <amount> and <unitCode> respectively. Please amend your XML template as such.

June 15, 2021 Well Packer Test
There will be a service disruption on Tuesday June 15, beginning at 12:00 p.m. and lasting until 1:00 p.m. to perform upgrades and routine maintenance to the Well Packer Test portion of DDS.
Modifications have been made to the Well Packer Test page that now enables licensees to report multiple test results per well license, per submission year, and to view & report test results in 4 submission years.
These changes better align with the new Directive 087: Well Integrity Management which came into effect March 4, 2021.

- This outage is part of the AER's ongoing migration to the cloud.
Once this work is complete, industry can expect an improved user experience
with less disruptions.
- Please ensure you consider this outage when submitting any time
sensitive applications near the outage dates, such as those related to
Directive 039 due May 3, 2021, and
Directive 060 due June 1, 2021.
- If you have any drafts in the production systems, please ensure
you submit them prior to the outage, or have them saved elsewhere.
- Petrinex will be available to users during the outage, however,
the AER will be unable to process submissions, or upload its data during this
time.

January 22, 2020 - OneStop Scheduled Outage
The OneStop Application tool will be unavailable from 9:00 am 5:00 pm on January 22 while the ISB performs maintenance and updates to the system.
December 13, 2019 2019 Office Holiday Closure
All offices of the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) will be closed for the holidays from December 21 to December 29, 2019. We will be open on December 30, 2019.
AER systems will remain running during this time.

December 4, 2019 Facility Licence Link Notification - Update
Effective December 4, 2019, modifications have been made to the Facility Licence Link Notification page that now enable licensees to update existing facility licence links. Prior to this change licensees only had the opportunity to establish a link if one did not exist. This change will ensure a Satellite/Compressor Facility Licence can correctly be categorized as active or inactive based on the production attributed to a linked facility.

eDOCS will be unavailable between 5:00 p.m. on October 31 to 8:00 a.m. on November 4 for scheduled maintenance. Apart from the eDOCS application itself, this outage will impact some integrated applications (IAR, EAS, CMS and EPS Query) which will also be unavailable during this update. Please do not attempt to access these applications during the outage
