AER Browser Support Lifecycle Dates (Updated March 2008)

With the release of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, the AER is providing the following information to assist with the appropriate planning and support of your infrastructure used to access AER business systems.

Our business systems direction has been to support three commonly-used “vendor mainstream supported” browsers, namely Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape Navigator. Some AER business systems use Internet Explorer specific features to provide an enhanced “ease of use”, and therefore are unsupported by Netscape and Firefox browsers.

Today, we support primarily Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 and secondarily Netscape Navigator 8.0. Starting in April 2008, supported browsers will only be Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 and 7.0. Support for Netscape Navigator 8.0 and Firefox 2.0 will be terminating on March 31, 2008.

The AER will not actively support browser versions that are not part of the mainstream software support programs.

The AER will introduce and retire browser support as per the following table.
